K1WAS Amateur Radio

The Westport Astronomical Society’s Amateur Radio Club K1WAS meets several times per year in the classroom on the campus of the Westport Observatory.

The shack also hosts an ADS-B equipped raspberry pi3 monitoring 1090 mhz for all flights near the observatory on the South tower. A solar Meshtastic node is also nearby.

All members of K1WAS are members of the Westport Astronomical Society and K1WAS is open to all WAS members who hold the appropriate licensing after a brief checkout.
